Description
Model Farm Cottages are estate workers' cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from gault brick and feature a hipped slate roof. The cottages have a two-storey 'H' shaped plan. They include sash windows with glazing bars and slightly projecting window surrounds made of rendered brick. Some window openings have flat gauged arches. The building has rusticated brick quoins, and the cross wings of the 'H' shape are highlighted by slight breaks in the wall and roof lines. There are two plain brick chimney stacks on the ridge line, along with external chimney stacks at the front and rear, which have moulded stone caps on paired console brackets. The cottages also feature slated porches supported by arch-braced timber.
