Description
Allen's Farmhouse and attached garden wall date from the early 18th century. The farmhouse is constructed of brick with a pantile roof, and stands on a brick plinth. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The central panelled door is flanked by brick pilasters and sits below an entablature with a moulded segmental pediment. A moulded platband is present at the first floor level, with ogival moulding below and rolled moulding above, extending into the returns. Late 20th-century segmental casements are situated on the ground floor and similar 20th-century casements are on the first floor, the central one being a two-light design. The gabled roof has internal end stacks. Fireplaces in the interior have been rebuilt, and no other original features remain. An attached brick garden wall runs from the south-east corner to the road and continues south-east along the road. The wall has a dentil cornice below two courses of coping, with flat brick coping above and curved coping bricks at the top.
