Description
The Thatch Cottage is an early 18th-century house located on Neatishead Common Road. It is constructed of brick and has a thatched roof, featuring one storey and an attic. The front of the cottage faces west and away from the road. On the left side, there is a 20th-century casement window that has replaced a door and an arched window, although the arch remains visible. To the right, there is another 20th-century metal casement window and a door set under a segmental arch, which is sheltered by a gabled timber porch. The roof is gabled, with a stepped south gable that has trefoiled coping bricks. The ground floor includes a 3-light metal casement window, also from the 20th century, and there is a roll and ovolo moulded brick string course at the eaves line. In the attic, a 20th-century casement window is positioned below a built-out niche, which is topped with a segmental ovolo moulded hood supported by labels. A central ridge stack is present on the roof.
