Description

An 18th-century walled kitchen garden at Gunton Park. The red brick walls, with stone dressings, originally enclosed approximately 5 acres. A gardener’s cottage is incorporated into the wall on the north side, and to the south is a spine wall with attached glasshouses. Clerestory vents are located on the north side. Lean-to brick and slate buildings once stood to the north, but these have now been converted into houses. The corners of the wall are castellated with turrets. Central gates are present on both the north and south sides, with gateposts featuring ball finials. The two-storey, three-bay gardener’s cottage has a central doorway and a leaded casement window to the left. Three sash windows with glazing bars are present on the upper storey. It has a slate roof.
