Description
The Health Centre, located 29 meters west of Nos 7 and 9 on King Street in King's Lynn, is a 16th-century outbuilding with an unclear original purpose. It was partly rebuilt in the early 19th century and restored in 1982 when it was converted into a health centre. The building features red brick construction with a yellow brick front dating from the early 19th century and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall, with a 20th-century door to the right and another to the left of the front elevation. There are various 20th-century casement windows, particularly on the first floor, and re-used masonry can be found at the south-west corner. Inside, the building has heavy bridging beams, three of which are sections of a ship's mast. Some brickwork was rebuilt in 1982, and remnants of door and window openings are still visible. The roof structure is reported to have been renewed, although it was not inspected at the time of review.
