Description

This is a two-storey house, now used as a dentists' surgery, originally part of number 3 King Street but separated early on. The house was rebuilt in the early 18th century and is constructed of red brick with a slate roof. The facade, which is two narrow bays wide, is closed to either side by giant pilasters rising to block entablatures below a panelled parapet. It has two sash windows on each floor, with glazing bars; the lower windows have entirely replaced sashes from the late 18th century, while the upper windows retain their original flush frames. Brick aprons sit below the lower windows. The roof is gabled with a stack on the rear slope. The interior is not of particular interest. The building exhibits a fine early 18th-century brick facade with Baroque mannerisms.
