Description
The Dental Surgery, located 22 meters west-southwest of Nos 7 and 9 on King Street in King's Lynn, is a 16th-century outbuilding of unknown original function that has been converted into a dentist's surgery since 1975. The structure is timber-framed with brick and features a slate roof. It has a long range that was once jettied, with brick infill and an underbuilt ground floor added in the late 18th century.
The north front includes a 20th-century door at each end and four 20th-century casement windows. The first floor is timber-framed with close studding and a pair of arched braces towards the west end. There is a 6-light diamond mullioned timber window on the left and three 2-light 20th-century casements on the right, all set within 16th-century window surrounds, some of which still have surviving mullions behind 1980s glazing. The roof is gabled and hipped to the west.
