Description
32 Broad Street is a house that has been converted into a dental surgery and dwelling. It dates from the late 18th century and has a core that dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries. The building is constructed of brick and features a shallow pitch Welsh slate roof, along with a brick multiple stack at the rear. It stands three stories high with a cellar and has a three-window range, showcasing 6/6 sash windows in painted reveals beneath grooved stucco lintels. The upper windows are similar, with old glass in the centre window. The entrance, located to the right, has a 20th-century six-panel door framed by an entablature supported by banded pilasters, while there are two 6/6 sashes to the left. The right elevation features 20th-century brickwork, with 18th-century 9/6 sashes under grooved stucco lintels. At the rear, there is a wing that includes a 6/6 sliding sash beneath a grooved stucco lintel and a 2/2 sash in a shouldered case. The interior is reported to have a double tier of cusped and chamfered windbraces at the rear of the front range.
