Description

This mid-18th century house, originally the rear section of No.15A King Street, underwent alterations to its south-facing flank in the late 18th century, which incorporated older sash windows. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick with a slate roof. Access from King Street is through a doorway on the right-hand side, which appears to be part of the elevation of No.11, leading to a passage at the rear. The south wall features two round-arched panels.

The west elevation is two stories and three bays wide. A C19 square glazed porch with a segmental pediment supported on pilaster strips with acanthus consoles sits below the entrance. The porch’s double-leaf doors have been re-used. Two sash windows flank the porch at ground level, each set within a segmental arch. There are three sash windows to the first floor, all under the eaves and featuring glazing bars. The roof is hipped, and a tall gault brick stack is present.
