Description
19 King Street is a house dated 1827, constructed of brown brick with a slate roof. It has two storeys and features four bays. To the left, there is a segmental-arched carriage entrance that leads into Aickman's Yard, which previously housed John Aickman's Foundry. Above the archway, a cast-iron plaque reads: John Aickman's Foundry, MDCCCXXVII. To the right of the archway, there are three sash windows with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches, with four similar windows located above. A plain parapet conceals the roof, and there are gable-end stacks. The house is accessed through a panelled door located on the north side of the passageway, which has a round-arched doorcase and a decorative fanlight. The top two panels of the door are now glazed.
