Description
Nos 9 and 10 Main Road are two cottages that were originally four, built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of flint rubble with brick dressings and feature red pantile roofs. The cottages are single storey with attics and have four ground floor two-light casement windows with wooden glazing bars, one of which retains its original lead pane glazing bars. All windows have "Y" tracery Gothic arched heads and brick-dressed surrounds. There are two boarded doors, also with "Y" tracery Gothic arched heads and brick dressings. The cottages include four eaves semi-dormers, each with two-light casements featuring glazing bars, "Y" tracery Gothic arched heads, lead cheeks, and arched roofs. The building has brick quoins and eaves, one ridge stack, and two end stacks. At the rear, there is an outshut roof and a lean-to on the south side.
