Description

The Icehouse is an 18th-century brick structure located in Houghton Park. It consists of a tunnel, an outer chamber, and an inner chamber. The tunnel mouth is in a derelict state, and the interior, which was not seen, features a tunnel that is 115 feet long. The outer chamber has a groin vault and was used as a game larder in the 19th century. The inner chamber is domed with a flat central roof panel and has a partly covered floor.
