Description
The Icehouse at Woolley Hall is a mid-18th century structure built from orange-red handmade brick and rubble stone. It has a circular shape, oval in section, with a flat bottom. The chamber is partially sunk into the ground and can be accessed through a brick-arched opening located on the north side, close to the cone of the vaulted roof, which is covered with earth. There are flanking walls on either side of the entrance, and the entire structure is surrounded by remnants of wrought-iron fencing.
