Description
The cloisters to the west, north, and east of the Garth at Home Farm are an enclosed courtyard dating from the early 19th century. They feature dressed freestone columns, some brick columns and arches, hammer-dressed stone, and stone slate roofs. The structure forms a U-shaped block. The western range includes three semicircular brick arches supported by square columns with a stone impost band, and to the right, there are seven Tuscan columns that no longer have their original lean-to roof against the rear stone wall. The north range consists of ten bays of columns, some of which are partly blocked to create rooms beneath a lean-to roof, while others are glazed to serve as a greenhouse. The eastern range has seven bays of columns with a lean-to roof that covers a swimming pool.
