Description
The Barn is a building that has been converted into a dwelling. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone alterations in the mid-20th century. The structure is made of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and originally had a symmetrical facade with three bays. The central bay projects forward and includes a semicircular-arched cart entry, topped with a pedimented gable and a weathervane. The flanking bays originally had segmental-arched cart entries, which have been altered to windows. The windows that have been inserted feature stone lintels and sills, and the roof is hipped.
Inside, one room contains a fine late 16th-century elaborately-carved oak fireplace, along with two doorcases that were sourced from Flockton Manor. These features showcase high-quality workmanship.
