Description

This is a former schoolhouse, now a house, built in 1837 for Mr Strickland Neville-Rolfe. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with brick dressings, and has a pantile roof with two brick gable stacks. Brick quoins define the corners. It is two storeys high and has three bays, with a central doorway. This doorway is accessed by an ogee-shaped porch with a C20 door and C19 iron lattice. It is flanked by single cross casements under segmental brick heads. Above the central doorway is a plaque inscribed "S.C.E.N - R 1838." Single two-light glazing bar casements are located above the ground-floor windows. All openings have brick quoined jambs. The building is listed for group value only.
