Description

Chestnut House is a house dating from 1829, as indicated by the "JRM 1829" datestone in the west gable. It has a facade of red brick laid in squared and coursed pattern, with returns of carstone. The roof is covered in black glazed pantiles. The house has two ground-floor and three first-floor sash windows with glazing bars, each fitted with louvred shutters. A central door is sheltered by a lattice front porch with a swept, leaded roof. There are two chimney stacks at either end of the building.
