Description
Tower House is a farmhouse built in 1657 and refronted in 1839. It is constructed of brick with plain tile roofs, although the west front now features corrugated tiles. The west front has two storeys and consists of five bays. The entrance is located to the right of the center, behind a 20th-century gabled porch. To the left of the door are two sash windows, and to the right is one sash window. The first floor has four sash windows, one of which is a late 20th-century replacement. All windows have glazing bars and are topped with gauged skewback arches. The roof is gabled and features two hipped dormers with casement windows. There are internal gable end stacks, and the north and south returns have brick string courses at the first floor and eaves line. The south gable displays a datestone from 1657 and tie plates from 1839.
At the rear, there is a three-storey square tower dating from the 17th century, which has been extensively repaired in the 19th century. It features a flat brick string course at the first floor and a set-off to the second floor, with the former being continuous with that of the main house. Each floor of the tower has one two-light cross casement window, with an inserted sash window between the ground and first floors. The tower is topped with a pyramidal tiled roof that has a saw tooth and dentil eaves cornice.
