Description

Emorsgate Farmhouse is a brick farmhouse dating from circa 1700. It has a combination of slate, pantiles, and corrugated tiles for roofing. The building follows a half H-shaped plan. The two-story facade has a dormer attic and features a central three-bay block flanked by projecting gabled cross wings. A C19 domed porch, with a C20 door behind it, is located to the right of the centre. There is one C19 cross casement window beneath a segmental arch to the right and left of the central block. Two similar cross casement windows are located on the first floor. The gabled slate roof incorporates two dormers and two symmetrically placed ridge stacks, with the stack to the south being C20. The front cross wings each have one C19 cross casement window on each floor, with a set-off at eaves level. The cross wings extend to the rear across two storeys, terminating in gable heads with moulded brick kneelers and brick tumbling. The fenestration is mixed, largely C19.
