Description

Hall Common Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from circa 1700. It is constructed of brick and has a thatched roof. The west facade is two storeys high and arranged in three wide bays. A central 20th-century door is set within a fluted timber case, and above it is a hood with dentils and guttae. To the left and right of the door are blocked segmental windows. Sashes with glazing bars are located on each side of the facade, with gauged skewback arches above the sashes. A platband runs along the first floor. There are three similar sashes on the first floor. The roof is gabled, with shaped gables and internal end stacks. A hipped cross wing extends to the rear, incorporating a dormer attic. The cross wing has a brick plinth. A 20th-century door and window are on the ground floor, and a first-floor casement window was added in 1986. A single dormer window is present in the roof. A single-storey service wing is located to the right, displaying burnt brick headers and a gabled roof.
