Description
The Stone House is a house dating from the early 18th century, which was refaced and altered in the late 18th century. It features a facade made of knapped Quaternary and Quarry flint and chert, with the remainder constructed from brick. The roof is covered with black glazed pantiles interspersed with red pantiles. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The central entrance has a panelled door set within a fluted case and is topped by an entablature. The reveals of the door are also panelled. The knapped flints are arranged in courses. The windows are sashes with brick quoins, glazing bars, and gauged skewback arches, while the upper central window has a round arch. The corners of the house are accentuated with rusticated brick quoins. The roof is hipped and bell-based, featuring two stacks on the rear slope, and there is an outshut at the rear.
