Description

Rookery Farm House is a farmhouse dating from around 1700. It is constructed of red brick with a black glazed pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high with attics and features a double pile design, along with a single storey red pantiled wing to the west. The house consists of two sections, with the earlier part located to the west, showing an off-centre straight joint on both the north and south sides.

The south front has two 3-light casements on the ground floor, and on the first floor, there are two 3-light casements and one 2-light casement, all featuring glazing bars. There are also two gabled attic dormers. A 19th-century brick porch is present, which has Gothick headed switch tracery casements on the east and west sides. The entrance includes part glazed double doors with margin lights, and there are two blocked windows on the east side.

The house features a brick dentil cornice, with off-centre and west end stacks that likely indicate the original extent of the house. The west gable has kneelers and a brick parapet. The eastern section has shaped gables with arched Gothick profiles, and mid-19th century casement windows on each floor. The west wing contains one 3-light casement and a wooden moulded doorcase with a four-centred arch, which is presumably reused. Inside, both sections have chamfered and stopped beams.
