Description
The granary immediately east of Limetree Farmhouse is a granary combined with a cartshed, built around the early 19th century. It features small flint towers with brick dressings. The granary itself is timber-framed and weatherboarded, with a ground floor rear wall made of flint and brick. The roofs are covered with pantiles. The structure includes a 7-bay cartshed with the granary positioned above it, flanked by two short, square masonry towers. The eastern tower has a pyramidal roof, while the western tower has a hipped roof. Inside, octagonal samson posts support the principal joists, which are connected to arched braces that rise to the eaves. The towers have plain dentil cornices, with the east tower featuring a cart entrance and a loft door above, while the west tower has a doorway and a loft doorway above. There is a later sloping buttress added to the north side of the west tower. The granary loft is suspended under the roof over the cartshed, with louvred sides and a staircase located at the center.
