Description

Manor House Farmhouse is a brick farmhouse, likely dating from the mid-18th century. It is situated on a site which is said to have traces of a moat remaining on its south side. The house has a symmetrical design and a double-pile plan of two rooms by two rooms. The exterior is brick with stone dressings, topped by a slate roof and chimneys corbelled at the gables. The facade is divided into two floors using brick bands, and features a central, single-storey gabled porch. It has two 20-pane sash windows on each floor, with stone sills and splayed stone heads. A blocked window with a brick head occupies the centre of the first floor. Gable walls contain garret windows, with the window on the left side being blocked. There is a blocked ground floor window in the right side wall, marked by a primitively decorated brick band above it. Similarly, the rear wall has a feature above a ground floor window and a tall stair light window with glazing bars that extends to the eaves.
