Description
Mill Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse, probably dating from the late 17th century, that has been altered. It is constructed of brick and has a slate roof. The building features a three-bay baffle-entry plan with a chimney stack located between the first and second bays, and a gable chimney at the left end. The farmhouse is two storeys high. There is a boarded door between the first and second bays, along with three ground floor windows; one is a two-light window and the others are three-light windows, all of which are casements with segmental brick heads that break into a brick band. The first floor has three two-light sliding-sash windows. Inside, the housepart in the second bay contains an inglenook with an altered firewindow and a large bressummer that is cambered and quarter-round moulded. There are two axial bridging beams that are chamfered but not stopped, and there were formerly two service room doors, one of which is now blocked.
