TG 41 NE ORMESBY ST. MICHAEL DECOY ROAD (south side) 2/35 Little Ormesby Hall - II

House. Mid C18. Brick. Roofs of black glazed pantiles. South facade of 3 storeys in 5 bays, the top storey above a deep moulded brick string course of cornice dimensions. Central blind sash window to ground floor complete with false glazing bars. 2 French windows left and right with shutters and overlights. First and second floor sashes with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. High parapet conceals hipped roof. Finely jointed rusticated quoins to angles. Brick quadrant loops to south west through one storey. Terminates in doorway set between 2 brick piers with urns as finials. Panelled double doors within Ionic doorcase, decorated frieze and dentiled parapet. This opens into summerhouse. North-west return again of quadrant form, pierced by sash windows with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. Parapet of openwork Indian tiles. Large 3 storey whitewashed C19 brick extensions to rear. Interior. Staircase has bobbin, block and turned balusters and ramped handrails. Re-used C16 timberwork graces one room in C19 wing, which is otherwise of slight interest.
