The building is a barn and stables located at Sowell's Farm, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of brick and has a thatched roof. The east side features stables and a hay loft on the left, with a carriage house in the center. The barn is attached to the north and includes a transept pedestrian entrance beneath a catslide roof. To the right, there is a pantiled outshut. The roof is supported by tie beams on arched braces that drop to wall posts, with queen struts rising to the lower of two tiers of butt purlins and collars.
