Description

This building consists of two terraced houses and a shop, dated 1739, made of red brick and pebbledashed brick, topped with a pantiled roof. It is 1½ storeys high. The house on the left features two windows and a central door, with an extended section to the left that has a later hipped roof and one window. The shop has a 20th-century double front with a central half-glazed door. The house on the right has one door and one window. All windows are sash style with glazing bars and segmental brick arches. There are brick kneelers at the parapet gables and a brick platband at the attic floor level on the east gable. The building has five gabled dormers with 19th-century two-light casement windows, along with a gable stack and an off-centre axial stack. A 18th-century pebbledashed wing includes a three-light window at the first floor on the west end, featuring a wrought iron casement and old glass. The pebbledashed extension is not of special interest. A date plaque on the east gable displays the monogram R.W. and the year 1739. This building is included for its group value.
