Description
The garden walls and forecourt railings to the south of The Old House date from the 18th century, with 19th-century railings. The walls are made of red brick and the railings are wrought iron. They extend south from both the east and west sides of the house, enclosing the forecourt with a central gate featuring a key pattern at the base and railings above. The gate piers are open work with a guilloche pattern and topped with four crocketed finials. The plain railings sit on a low wall made of red and gault brick. The 18th-century walls on the east side have a plinth and shallow brick piers on the interior, with hogs back coping on brick corbelling. The wall on the west side also features hogs back coping on brick corbelling.
