Description
This early 18th-century house and shop is constructed of colourwashed brick with a pantile roof. It is two storeys high with attics. A single-storey section from the 18th century adjoins the west side, along with a continuous two-storey outshut and a 20th-century single-storey extension at the rear. The building has four windows. A 19th-century shop front has been inserted on the left, featuring a central glazed door with a fanlight and timber mullions with capitals and radiused corners. There is an off-centre six-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight containing glazing bars. A moulded brick string course runs along the first-floor level. Sash windows contain glazing bars. A segmental brick arch is above the ground-floor window. The eaves have brick dentils, and the east gable is curved with rendered coping and an end stack. An internal end stack is on the west gable. A single-storey wing includes a 20th-century shop window, and there is a carriageway at the rear. Wedge dormers with sash windows are at the rear of the building. This building possesses group value from its contribution to the street scene.
