Description

Three terraced houses stand on the north side of High Street, dating from the 18th century, with 19th-century alterations to their frontages. Originally a single house, it was divided and extended to the west. The eastern section comprises two identical facades, each of three bays, defined by pilasters that create recessed panels. Each facade has a wide central pilaster containing the front door, topped with a semi-circular fanlight featuring glazing bars. The doors feature panels with semi-circular ends accentuated by raised timber beads. A plinth and moulded string course run along the front. Sash windows with glazing bars are present throughout. A sun dial with inscription is set between the first floors of the two houses. The roof is covered in pantiles. Parapet gables, a central axial stack, and end stacks, all dating from the 19th century, are visible, with the stacks having square plan shafts. The western range (number 18) has three bays defined by plain pilasters creating recessed panels, a moulded string course at first floor level, and a moulded plaster cornice at eaves. The central door is topped by a mullion and transom casement window with a straight head and a hood mould. A parapet gable with an internal stack to the west is also present. An outshut, extending to the rear and two stories high, is attached.
