Description

1 and 2 Harrolds Grove Cottages are a pair of early 19th-century cottages constructed from red brick in a rat-trap bond pattern. They feature a steeply-pitched pantiled roof and are designed in an E-plan layout with projecting crosswings and a central porch. The cottages have five symmetrical bays, each with three-light casements that have ovolo-moulded mullions. The porch includes a four-centred arched doorway with a moulded surround. There are two gabled dormers, each with two-light casements, with the right-hand dormer being wider. The gables are parapeted and topped with brick copings. The cottages have chimney stacks located at the gables and centrally along the ridge line, all featuring twin square shafts. A gabled wing is present at the rear.
