Description

Garden Cottages are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They feature chequer work brick and an old plain tile roof. The cottages are 1½ storeys high, with each cottage having two bays and an outshot at the rear. The front of each cottage includes a gabled porch in the outer bay, with a door located either on the front or side, and a single cast-iron casement window on the side or front. The inner bay has a three-light casement window set in a segmental arch, with a similar window above it in a wide gabled dormer. The roof is hipped, with a central stack that has three shafts: square in the center and diamond-shaped at the front and rear.
