Description

The building consists of four almshouses, constructed in 1885 for George and Sarah Tyrrell. They are made of red brick and feature a machine tile roof. The almshouses are single-storey with a central projecting bay under a gable, flanked by similar bays on either side, making a total of three bays. Between the gables, there are three 2-light cross casements with segmental heads, and each gable end has one 3-light cross casement. The doors are 2-panelled. The gabled roof is above a moulded brick eaves cornice, which has an inverted arched frieze. There are four moulded stacks with triple flues. The rear of the building has a continuous row of 2-light and single-light casements and doorways, also under segmental heads. A boundary wall surrounds the building on all sides, and at the rear, it develops into gabled outbuildings. The interior has not been inspected.
