Description
This is an early 18th-century house located in Thetford, extended around 1830 and subsequently altered internally. The front facade is of gault brick laid over a flint core, with brick dressings and a serrated tile roof. Originally, the house presented a three-bay facade, with a fourth bay to the left providing access to a rear passage and a side entrance, now incorporated into the main building. The ground floor features an arched 6-panel door (installed in 1985), and three 6/6 sash windows, each set beneath a gauged skewback arch. Above are three further 6/6 sash windows. The rear of the house has a two-storey addition and modern glazed conservatories. Internally, the cellar retains a chamfered bridging beam with run-out stops. The original side passage entrance is accessed through a 6-panelled door featuring a 5-vaned fanlight. A stick baluster staircase has a lightly ramped and wreathed handrail.
