Description
The former garage adjoining Riversdale, previously known as No. 13A Tanner Street, is a building that dates back to the early 16th century but has undergone significant alterations in 1991. Originally a house, it has since been converted into a shop. The structure features a timber frame with flint and brick infill, topped by a pantiled roof. The exterior is rendered and whitewashed, and the building stands two storeys high. The ground floor has been rebuilt while reusing some of the original studs on the left side. An arched brace supports the jetty bressumer, which stands on a roll-moulded wall post with a capital. To the right, there are two 20th-century copies of the original features. The first floor includes one 20th-century window and one 19th-century window. The gabled roof has a reduced internal gable-end stack on the south side, and the rebuilt gault brick returns are visible. At the rear, there is a two-storey cross wing that also features 20th-century details. Inside, the ground floor showcases wave-moulded bridging beams and joists.
