Description
Tanner House is a house that has been converted into a youth and community centre. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of flint with gault brick dressings. The facade and rear elevations are made of gault brick, and it has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The central entrance features double-leaf doors that are three-panelled and fielded, topped by a four-panelled overlight, all framed by a plain timber doorcase. On either side of the entrance, there is an 8/8 sash window, both of which have gauged skewback arches above them. The first floor has two similar sash windows and a double 4/4 sash window in the centre. The roof is hipped, with chimney stacks located on the north and south slopes. Inside, there is a staircase with alternating turned and stick balusters, along with a ramped and wreathed handrail.
