Description

The walls running south from Numbers 1, 2, and 3 Nunnery Cottages in Thetford are kitchen garden walls of indeterminate date, likely constructed after the dissolution of the monasteries. They are made of re-used ecclesiastical masonry laid in coursed ashlar blocks. The walls contain many 12th-century fragments, including cushion capitals, roll mouldings, and chevron patterns.
