Description
Boscombe House and Twyford are a pair of houses built in the mid-18th century. They are constructed from cut flint with gault and red brick dressings, topped with a roof of black-glazed pantiles. The buildings are two storeys high and feature eight irregular bays, a plinth course, a dentil eaves cornice, and a gabled roof.
Boscombe House (No.2) has a carriage entrance at the south-east end, fitted with double timber doors. To the right, there are four 6/6 sash windows under segmental heads, with four more on the first floor. There are two doorways next to the right, the left-hand one featuring fluted pilaster strips and a plain hood, while the other has a 20th-century six-panelled door. Above these doorways are two additional 6/6 sash windows.
Twyford House (No.4) appears outwardly symmetrical with two bays. It has a central 20th-century door flanked by one 6/6 horned sash window on either side, along with two similar sashes on the first floor. The lower windows have segmental arches. The building has an internal gable-end stack to the north-west and south-east, as well as two ridge stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
