13/32 Barn 50m south-west of The Priories

Barn and attached cottage, late C17, of timber frame on flint and brick plinth clad with weatherboard, rend and brick. The roof is of asbestos cement sheets. 3 stead barn with inserted C20 floor, with single storey lean-to, to east and 2 storey cottage to west. South wall of C19 brick, the east gable of weatherboard. Central C20 boarded doors in north elevation with weatherboard to east and render to west. Timber frame in tact. Oak studs with tension braces between jowled posts with arch braces to tie beams. 'Queen Struts' from tie beam to principal rafters. The upper purlins are clasped, with single curved wind braces. The lower are staggered. Collage to west and eastern lean-to, not of special interest.
