Description
This building is a barn and attached cottage located 50 meters south-west of The Priories, dating from the late 17th century. It features a timber frame set on a plinth made of flint and brick, and is clad with weatherboard, render, and brick. The roof is covered with asbestos cement sheets. The barn has three bays and includes a 20th-century inserted floor, with a single-storey lean-to on the east side and a two-storey cottage on the west side. The south wall is made of 19th-century brick, while the east gable is clad in weatherboard. The north elevation has central boarded doors from the 20th century, with weatherboard on the east side and render on the west side. The timber frame remains intact, featuring oak studs with tension braces between jowled posts and arch braces supporting the tie beams. There are 'Queen Struts' extending from the tie beam to the principal rafters. The upper purlins are clasped, with single curved wind braces, while the lower purlins are staggered. The cottage to the west and the eastern lean-to are noted as not being of special interest.
