Description
This is a range of two houses, originally three, located 40 metres south-east of the centre of Nags Head and dating from the 16th century. The buildings are timber framed with wattle and daub infill. The southern house is roughcast, while the northern house has been refronted with brick in the 19th century. Both houses have roofs covered with black glazed pantiles.
The southern house has two storeys, with a door positioned to the left of centre from the 20th century, flanked by a late 19th-century sash window on the left and an early 19th-century sash window on the right. There are two 19th-century sash windows on the first floor above a coved jetty. The house features a paired modillion timber eaves cornice and a gabled roof with bargeboard, along with a late 19th-century ridge stack on the left.
The northern house retains two doors that reflect the original layout, with all details dating from the 19th century. The 18th-century stack has been altered.
