Description
The building known as the range south of the Swan Inn, which includes Parkinson's Stores, is a mid-18th century structure consisting of two properties, one of which is a shop. It features colourwashed brick and a roof made of black glazed pantiles. The building has two storeys and a dormer attic, arranged in six bays. There is a door located in the second bay from the right, set behind an eared doorcase with a moulded pediment. The two bays on the left side are obscured by a 20th-century double shop front at the ground floor. All windows are framed with moulded architraves and are fitted with mid-19th century sashes, although one upper window is blank. The building has a timber eaves cornice and a bell-based gabled roof that includes three flat-topped dormers. The gables are parapeted with tumbling, and the northern gable features an internal stack. The range extends to the west and includes a timber-framed section under a gabled roof.
