Description
The Rectory is a former rectory for inferior clergy in Hatfield Parish, dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features a timber frame and has a lobby entrance plan with two bays. The exterior is roughcast, with the northern gable end stuccoed facing the street, and it has a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high and includes two eaves dormers, along with a central first-floor window that has 17th and 18th century oak mullions and casements. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century gabled window bay that replaces the original porch. Additionally, there is an early to mid-19th century porch-bay addition on the northern side. The door has three triangular-headed panels and is supported by thin moulded brackets under the hood.
