Description

This is an early to mid-18th century cottage, with alterations dating to the early 19th century and the 20th century. The cottage has a timber frame, with front and rear walls of timber. The right return has an 18th-century brick gable wall, and the left return has a brick gable wall dating to the early 19th century. The front facade is covered in roughcast. The roof is low-pitched and slate, and was raised in the early 19th century. The building has an "L" shape, with an inglenook fireplace at the right gable end and a winder staircase located behind the front range to the left of the centre. The cottage is two stories high, with two windows wide, and an entrance between them, to the right of centre. The windows are square-headed, three-light casements with leaded panes. The entrance is camber-headed, with an early 19th-century door and a slightly projecting early 19th-century porch featuring octagonal timber columns and a cambered roof. The building is included on the list solely for its contribution to the group value of the area.
