Description
This building, known as 56 Bell Lane, is a house that was formerly called Elm Tree Farmhouse. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and was heightened and extended at the rear in the early 19th century. The exterior features chequered red brick, with the right-hand end rendered. There are three floor bands and four sash windows in flush wood frames, with the windows on the first and second floors having segmental heads. The central entrance has a six-fielded panel door with a geometrical patterned glazing bar fan above it, and is topped by a bracketed tiled hood. The roof is machine tiled, with front and gable parapets, and there are end stacks. The south side and rear are plastered.
