Description
Top House, formerly known as Hill Top Farmhouse, is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with four brick stacks—two at the ends and one each to the left and right of the center. The building has three storeys and includes a moulded wooden eaves cornice above a low parapet, with reduced proportions on the second floor. The front of the house is regularly arranged with four windows, which are modern top-opening casements fitted into the original openings. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by a blind radiating fanlight, all set within an arched surround that is flanked by half-columns and an open pediment.
