Description

This building, known as W. Hall, Butcher, is a house and shop dating from the 17th century. It features a late 18th century or early 19th century red brick front and rear extension, topped with a plain tile roof. The structure is two storeys high and has moulded and dentilled brick eaves. On the first floor, there are three wide casement windows with wooden glazing bars and gauged brick lintels. The ground floor has two similar windows, along with a 19th century shop front on the left, which includes a four-pane window and a flush panel door. The plastered northern gable end reveals some 17th century brickwork at the ground floor level. A broad chimney stack is positioned behind the front range.
