Description

27A Pondsmead is a factory built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile hipped roof. The building has a long rectangular shape with short projecting wings on the northwest and southeast sides. It stands two storeys tall and has dentilled brick eaves. The windows are segmental headed glazing bar casement and ventilator types. The narrow elevation facing the High Street includes two windows and a central door topped with a dentilled bracketed hood. The north elevation has a broad central carriage entrance with a long timber lintel, which now features a tripartite opening that is glazed. There are nine segmental-headed windows on the first floor. At the east end of the main roof, there is a notable wrought iron weathervane with a scrolled base and pointer.
