Description

The linking building between the Gatehouse and the School House Block at St Albans School dates from the mid-20th century. It is a two-storey structure featuring an arcaded ground floor that projects forward twice to connect with the School Hall block. The building is constructed of flint, with red brick quoins and a parapet that conceals the roof. It has stone ground floor arcades and mullioned windows with square hoodmoulds. The design is in keeping with the style of the older buildings in the area. The Abbey Gate and St Albans School building form a group.
