2/77 South-west barn at rear of yard at Wellhead Farm

Barn. Late C17. Timber frame on red brick sill, dark weatherboarded with steep pitched roof formerly thatched now of asbestos sheeting. A tall 4-bays barn facing N with double doors in 2nd bay from W. Jowled posts, long cranked braces to tie-beams. 2 purlins to each slope, the upper clasped by a high collar, the lower butt-jointed. Straight wind-braces to lower purlin at gable ends.
